There is a rare variety of peach called the purple peach or today the peach is known as the Indian Blood Cling, a name that unites the “Blood” peach of the French Sanguinole with the “Indian” peach that grows wild in the southeastern states of Georgia and Florida. It was commonly listed by early nineteenth-century nurseries and is a rare peach mostly found in Florida and Georgia.
